RETURN TO FORMER GLORY

This prominent corner building in Prague’s main commercial square was built in 1905 to house the Czech headquarters of the Allianz insurance company. Alterations were made in the 1920’s to enable its use as a bank headquarters with the elaborate banking hall added and ground floor space used as a showroom for Škoda cars.

Over the years that followed many changes and additions were made which detracted from the original building quality.  It will now be completely reconstructed with many of the original interior decorative elements restored and these will be complemented with modern design elements. Retail use will be added to the ground floor in keeping with the commercial focus of the square. The upper floors will have office use with a roof terrace added to take advantage of the stunning rooftop views.

The project will provide 8 000 m2 of accommodation and the developer is Crestyl.
